Boat WAshing

We offer both one-time detailed washes done as needed or recurring washes done every one, two, three or four weeks. Recurring washes are the best way to keep your boat clean year-round so it's ready for you anytime you want to enjoy it.
All washes include: Washing the boat from the waterline up using a soap that doesn't strip wax; washing away dirt and salt spray, bird or spider droppings and black water streaks; scrubbing non-skid and lifting up hatches and storage compartments to clean the gutter tracks and hatch edges and doing a wipe down in the cockpit or fly bridge area.
Add extra wash or exterior cleaning services as needed:

Add extra wash or exterior cleaning services as needed:
- Clean canvas to remove dirt, mildew and bird dropping stains
- Polish stainless and other metals
- Clean and polish plastic windows (Isinglass and Strataglass)
- Clean and whiten/brighten vinyl seats
- Wash and detail dinghies and tenders
- Clean enclosed fly bridge areas or cockpits - vacuuming, wiping down surfaces, cleaning Isinglass, vinyl seats, lifting up seat cushions, non-skid, and more.
Buffing and Polishing

Our buff and polish service will remove oxidation, bring back the gloss and further protect your gel coat making your boat easier to clean throughout the year.
One-Step Process
If your boat has light to medium oxidation in places, we'll do a one-step buff and polish using compound where needed to remove the oxidation and then follow up with our long-lasting polish.
Two-Step Process
If your boat has heavier oxidation (gel coat looks faded, no more shine left), we'll compound the whole boat and then apply our long-lasting polish.
If you're unsure of what your boat needs (a one-step or two-step process), we always do test spots before we start working to figure out the best process for your gel coat's condition.
Unlike wax that starts to degrade after a few months, we use special, long-lasting polishes and hybrid waxes that help protect your gel coat for 12 to 18 months. This helps your boat stay cleaner longer, makes it easier to clean and resists oxidation for a longer period of time. We're the only detailing company in Seattle who uses Restructure Marine polish (which we've now re-branded as Deckhand Detailing's One-Step Polish), so when you choose Deckhand Detailing, your boat will look shiny and clean longer than any other company can promise. Read our FAQ about our buffing and polishing services.

Ceramic Coatings and Sealants

Starting in May 2023, we'll be offering a ceramic coating and sealant service to help keep your boat looking it's best and well-protected throughout the year. Our ceramic services are a great way to add an additional layer of UV protection to your boat to prevent oxidation, water spots and salt spray from degrading the look and integrity of the surface it's applied to.
We recommend our ceramic coating and sealant service every few months between yearly detail jobs to provide the highest level of protection and continuously increase the life of your boat's gel coat or painted surface.
