Videos
We have found that if a picture tells a thousand words, then videos tell even more! Not only can you listen to us describing the work we're doing, but you'll be able to see actual footage of the work. We often take videos of our work to show before and after results or to share our techniques.
Some of our videos are posted below, but you can view all videos directly on YouTube in our Deckhand Detailing channel. If you subscribe to this channel, you'll be alerted when new videos are added.

Red Ski Boat - From Oxidized to Glossy
This red ski boat was heavily oxidized and as all of you who have a colored hull know, you have to keep on top of waxing it on a regular basis lest you want a pale version of that color! Check out the "before" video and the "after" video. What a difference!
57 Tollycraft - Before & After Videos
These videos are before and after videos of a heavily oxidized 57 Tolly. We were able to detail this boat in a boat shed with good lighting, so the before and after sections come out really good. We made this boat look liquid again! (Clicking on the video links will open a new browser window on YouTube.)
- Video 1 - The boat in it's original oxidized state before we touched it so you can get an idea of just how dull the gel coat was.
- Video 2, Video 3, Video 4 - We've started buffing some sections and you can see where it's oxidized and where it's now glossy.
- Video 5 - We made the helm station look liquid!
- Video 6 - We get the boat dirty before we get it clean. Here you'll see both oxidized and glossy sections, our gear and how we tape off the non-skid before waxing.
- Video 7 - Cap rail and windshield area, oxidized and glossy.
- Video 8 - Narrated before and after areas of boat.
58 Ocean Before and After
This new 58 Ocean wasn't terribly oxidized, but it had bad swirl marks all over it either from the factory or from shipping the boat over. Our job was to compound those swirl marks out and make the gel coat look like new. (Clicking on the video links will open a new browser window on YouTube.)
- Video 1 - This video shows the boat before we touched it so you can see what we're talking about - light oxidation and swirl marks.
- Video 2 - Sections on the hardtop that have been buffed and waxed and are now glossy.
- Video 3 - Before and after sections on the brow.
Before and After Videos of the Little Dipper: This is a 25' Tug that we detailed just half of for the September boat show in Seattle. The boat hadn't been detailed in 12 years and was heavily oxidized, but with a lot of compound and a buffer, we brought it back quite nicely!
Swirls on a brand new boat: This video shows the swirl marks left on brand new gel coat by poor workmanship at the factory.
How swirl marks are made when the buffer is used incorrectly.
This video shows a boat with swirl marks. We've compounded both sides of the door, but left the door alone so you can see the difference.
25 Bayliner with heavy oxidation and spider droppings. We did a test section on the brow to see how a two-step wax process would turn out. The results are amazing!
45 Sea Ray with heavy oxidation. This video shows a section we just finished waxing.
Leather Cleaning: The leather on this couch had not been cleaned in a very long time and was showing a lot of dirt in the grain.
